Grandparent's Bag of Stories
Grandparent's Bag of Stories by Sudha Murthy is a wonderful book.
I got my first book written by Sudha Murthy on my 8th birthday, gifted to me by my second cousin. He gave me How I taught My Grandmother to Read and Other Stories, and Grandma's Bag of stories. He also gave me a Signed edition of my first 3 Harry Potter books, but I will review them sometime later. After I read the first book, I was hungry for more or her work. I devoured book after book, and my hunger grew.
My exams just got over, and my mother told me that Sudha Murthi had written a new book. I was not mad to deny a book!! So there it was the amazon parcel. I opened it right away. I was amazed to believe my luck- THIS WAS MY SECOND SIGNED SUDHA MURTHY BOOK!! I started reading it right away
This is as good as a sequel to grandma's bag of stories. It is about a few grandchildren who visit their grandparents during the lockdown. This book not only narrates some wonderful stories that you can expect from those 2 generations above you, but it also perfectly describes the first phase of lockdown; the fear, paranoia, consequences of a country suddenly a standstill, and the precautions almost all of us took.
Two generations of today stick together through the national emergency as they discover, through the love of stories, a dancing tiger, a mouse that becomes a mouse, the unbelievable luck of a so-called astrologer, and a magical beanstalk.
How did a blind beggar get his eyesight back and prosper in his life? Read this book to find out!!
