The trip to Igatpuri - Our journey there

 Hello readers!!

As the title suggests, this post is about my trip to Igatpuri. However, before I start, I have a few announcements:-

Firstly, the option to subscribe to this blog will no longer be available 😔😔 . I'm afraid you will no longer get email updates for my blog.

The service "Feedburner" has discontinued the subscription feature. However, I hope to find another subscription service soon!

Secondly, I finished seventh grade long ago. In fact, It has been several weeks since I started 8th grade. I apologise for being extremely irregular on this blog. I have been very busy with school work, and have not found time to blog at all.

Now, coming to my trip.

The moment I shut my Microsoft teams window last Friday I got to work. I had to finish TONS of homework!! My schedule was like this

12:45: lunch

1:30: Homework

2:30- Vocals Class

3:30- Homework

Roughly at 5: Roblox till I drop! (also checking which clothes I fit into at the side)

7:00 - Listens to music and packs clothes&Irons them

8:30: Dinner

8:45- OMG! I have a physics test on Turning on a Pivot! (eats faster)

9:00- Takes the test

After that- runs around the house like a headless chicken packing random stuff in 'the green bag' (BTW, I have several green bags)

The next morning, I woke up with my regular alarm. I had been dreaming about my phone. I snoozed it and woke up at half-past six. Then I got ready, did a bit of last-minute packing, and by 7 we were on our way to Igatpuri. On the way, my two sisters came in my car. I am the oldest among them. In the car, there were Mom, Dad, Y, V, and me.

We were still half asleep, so we did not talk much for a while. We just enjoyed some music and complained about how dizzy we were. Since I only had a glass of milk, I got really sick. I did NOT enjoy that.

In some time, we reached a petrol pump. Dad got the car refilled, while the youngest sister among used the washroom. I had a little bit of Upma so that I don't get dizzier. When we got back into the car we were in a perfectly chatty mood.

I will not describe the scenery yet; it was an exceptionally normal view, with buildings zooming past us. However, when we stepped down at a food court for a washroom break, we switched cars- I went with Y and V in their car, and our grandparents joined my parents in our car.

At the food court, we bought some fruitella, and we sat munching that. Since I have braces, that is the closest I can have to gum.

When we left the city, I was awestruck by the breathtaking scenery. We were surrounded by mountains with tall, dark green trees, carpeted with light green grass. Never have I seen such a brilliant contrast of the colour green. A damp smell of monsoon surrounded us.

As we began to descend the mountains we saw tiny huts emerging. What would look like an avoidable shanty here in Mumbai looked extremely miraculous here in the Ghats. I especially remember a tiny hut with a red roof. It was the simplicity that made it so beautiful. Nature covered up its million faults, and the rich greenery accessorised it better than any paints or lights could. At such times, we realise how complicated life is in a city and how beautiful the
the countryside makes everything.

I had only half absorbed this beauty when nature surprised me again; I saw some tall mountains, all with something brilliant about them- I could not put my finger on what exactly it was. How tall they were I could not determine, for a heavy fog surrounded them. I managed to take some pictures of this surreal scenery, so even you could praise nature at her best.

When we touched Igatpuri, we saw buildings return. They were obviously not as developed as those here in Mumbai, and nature was still rich. When we entered our villa compound, I expected a plain bungalow, and our smiles dropped a bit as our car made its way past tall, unkempt grass. From the outside, the villa looked exceptionally ordinary. We are not spoiled children, but I must accept that I was expecting something extravagant. But when we entered the villa I gave an audible gasp and all our faces had a look of surprise.
